Retention and Protection of Files Containing Personal Information

However, even though Uni-Select has put in place mechanisms and procedures to ensure the protection of your personal information that are considered to be effective, we cannot guarantee that such information will not be lost, used unlawfully or modified in a fraudulent manner since no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely confidential. Consequently, Uni-Select bears no liability for the use that may be made of the information by you or a third party.
We will give you access to the information we retain within a reasonable timeframe, upon written request, satisfactory identification and proof of entitlement. If you find any errors in the Personal Information retained by us, we urge you to contact us as soon as possible and we will make the appropriate corrections immediately, based on receipt of satisfactory evidence.

If for some reason the request cannot be completed, we will advise you in writing of the reason for refusal. You may challenge our decision.

We will attempt to respond to each of your written requests not later than thirty (30) days after receipt of such requests. We will advise you in writing if we cannot meet your requests within this time limit.
“Phishing” is a scam designed to steal your Personal Information. If you receive an email that looks like it is from us asking for your Personal Information, do not respond. We will never request your password, user name, credit card information or other Personal information through email.
If you are a California resident and have an established business relationship with us, you can request a notice disclosing the categories of Personal Information we have shared with third parties, for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes, during the preceding calendar year. Use of Technology: Cookies & Logs
Uni-Select may also use logs to collect information about its visitors. Uni-Select may review server logs for security purposes, for example, to detect intrusions into our network. Server log data, which contains visitors’ IP addresses, could in instances of criminal malfeasance be used to trace and identify individuals. In such instances, raw data logs would be shared with appropriate investigative bodies authorized to investigate such breaches of security. Like cookies, logs do not cross reference the information automatically collected with any type of personal information that is voluntarily offered by you on or through this Site.
Governing Law, Arbitration and Evidence
This Site is controlled and operated by Uni-Select from Québec, Canada and these terms shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the laws of Canada applicable thereto without reference to principles of conflict of laws. You agree to be bound by such laws.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, nothing contained herein shall be interpreted as precluding Uni-Select from exercising any extraordinary procedures under the Code of Civil Procedure of the Province of Québec, such as an injunction.
